I think it makes the most sense for luffy and friends to head towards elbaph, shanks meets up with blackbeard and fights him and loses and gets brought back to pirate island so that blackbeard can use shanks, and garp as baits for luffy because he wants to steal Luffys fruit to finish his trio of fruits being the darkness fruit, the quake fruit, and to top it all the Nika fruit. So we'll get another fast paced arc at elbaph like egghead and luffy will leave elbaph to go rescue shanks and garp. Maybe it happens at the next island and not pirate island though, that way he can steal all poneglyph copies and head straight to laugh tale.

Ok, just testing the water here. (Warning, it's a looong post..) What would people think if both Kaido and Big Mom came back to challenge Luffy on this Island and they said they refuse to accept him as a Yonko unless he takes them out alone. Luffy immediately burst out in Gear 5 and radiates an emperor haki even stronger than in Wano. It's so strong in fact that it tears the surroundings apart. Both Yonko's can feel the overwhelming strength/aura from this single individual resulting in them standing down before the battle even began, exhaling and saying something to the likes of "It's no doubt anymore. He truly is JoyBoy. The time has come". It turns out they had their reasons to believe Luffy is JoyBoy but needed to have one last verification before accepting it and offer their support to him. The reason for this is that both of them have been waiting for JoyBoy to show so he can lead them into the final battle with the world government. This desire to meet JoyBoy was passed down from Rocks together with some twisted motivation of why they wanted him to lead them. Their motivation would definitely be different from Luffy's. Maybe they don't want to free everyone but to be able to conquer and dominate everything and everyone. Ofc Luffy will not accept this resulting in a new fight later on which can give us a comparison to how much Luffy has grown once again. The reason I am suggesting such a scenario is because it opens up for Luffy having yonko level of support for when the Strawhat's are going to fight the world government, leading to some epic fights and stress relief for Luffy in the end game battles. I'd be the first to admit I honestly don't think Oda would ever go for this due to several reasons, being: 1. It doesn't fit the story so far. 2. It doesn't fit the characters of Big Mom and Kaido 3. I don't think Luffy would accept their support after everything that has happened 4. I'm not sure how well the fan base would accept such a radical change. But despite all this I must say I find the possibilities it provides quite entertaining and intriguing. What do you think?
